CBS SHOPPING
CENTRE
The School has a panoramic Market Area called
Shopping Centre, which meets all the
requirements of the school and its residents. It
includes Tuck Shop, Grocery Shop, Tailor Shop,
Barber Shop, Accessory Shop, Cafeteria,
Vegetable Shop and Laundry.
Students visit these shops according to their
needs in a regularized manner. Taking advantage
of the Market Area, The Chand Bagh School
teaches students how to manage their economic
affairs. Students are given ‘cheques’ by the
House Matron, according to a certain criteria,
which the students exchange with money tokens at
tuck shop according to their need, spend and
manage them throughout a month. No other form of
money, i.e. cash is allowed.
The services that various shops and shopkeepers
in Market Area provide are as follows
CBS Book Shop
Book shop was started in August 2008 to provide
all syllabus books and stationery to the
students without any complicated formalities.
Earlier the books and stationery items were
issued to the students by the main store. The
idea behind starting the Book Shop was to
streamline issuance of books and stationery and
to make the process expedient and easy for the
students.
Every year books and stationery items are issued
to all students on the very first day of the
beginning of new session. It provides a
wonderfully convenient service to students as
well as their parents as they are spared from
the tiring job of looking for syllabus books in
the market. After the issuance of books and
stationery, the record is sent to the Accounts
Department to charge the students with the price
of the books and stationery.
The Book Shop is supervised by an official whose
designation is Officer-Incharge Book Shop. A
clerk always sits in the Shop from 8 am to 3 pm.
Students may visit the Book Shop before the
morning assembly, during break time or at the
end of their morning academic session. Anyhow,
students are not encouraged to visit the Book
Shop during their classes.
Books and stationery items purchased are stocked
in the months of July and August according to
the requirements of the students. As a matter of
policy, ten percent extra stock is always
available to cater to the needs of the students
who may join the school in the mid of the
session
Accessory Shop
It provides students with not only with school
uniform and sports kit but also other
accessories like stationery, soaps, towels,
belts, perfumes, body sprays and shoes.
Grocery Shop
Like any other social community, Market Area
also has a grocery shop, which provides all the
needs of school residents. One may have an
access to all kinds of eatables and edibles
ranging from various beans to fresh vegetables,
fruits, bread, eggs, jams and so on.
Tailor Shop
Very competent tailors run this shop. It is
their prime responsibility to provide the
students with stitched School Uniform and
repair, if necessary, throughout the session.
Barber Shop
As Chand Bagh School is a fully residential
School, the barber takes full care of the
students’ haircut. He visits all the eight
houses twice a month and makes sure that the
students’ haircut is proper.
Laundry
Laundry of Chand Bagh School fully meets the
requirements of a residential school. In each of
the eight Houses, there is a laundry room.
Laundry staff collects the laundry from these
rooms and places the pressed uniform in the
designated boxes of the students on regular
basis.
Cafeteria
Cafeteria is the most attractive part of the CBS
Market. One may get nearly all the food items
from here that ranges from fast food to Bar B Q
and from fresh juice to cold drinks, coffee, tea
and so on.
